Say Hello To Monbis Halo-halo!

Life served up with a scoop of acceptance, a topping of tolerance and sprinkles of hope is what we call "HAPPINESS".

Halo-halo has been one of my favorite desserts. It is my comfort food and it spells H-A-P-P-I-N-E-S-S to me. It has always been associated with the hot summer season of our country. However, this sweet refreshing dessert is just so hard to resist even during the cold rainy days.

I am a sweet-toothed monster who is in search of the sweetest, mouth-watering and most delectable dessert and let me tell you about my first encounter with Monbis' Halo-halo.

I live in Labangon for quiet some time now and all I thought siomai and steamed rice are the only food I can devour in this place. We (cebuano) all know that Labangon is known for its famous "Siomai sa Tisa" and "Bradex Steamed Rice", but wait! They have something sweet to offer too. Monbis is a roadside food store located just right next to Bradex in  Tisa, Labangon. They offer sizzling meals, but their best seller is their ohh-so-yummy-and-ohh-so-refreshing layered and vibrant bowl of halo-halo.

Their halo-halo is deifferent from the usual halo-halo. We usually see halo-halo with overloading ingredients, but this one is a minimalist. Their only ingredients are: fresh banana, mango, buko strips, corn, crushed ice, wafer stick, leche flan, ice cream, sprinkled with corn cereals and Graham crackers, finish with a slush of chocolate syrup.

Their halo-halo is just so heavenly. Why? Because instead of  crushing ice, they crush ice candy. How cool and sweet is that? Plus they put a generous amount of cream and condensed milk (Yes, condensed milk not evaporated milk.) as sweeteners. HARDCORE! The magic trick is to mix all the ingredients and eat it slowly. Eventually, the shaved ice candy, condensed milk and cream will liquefy slightly and turn into a sweet treat. A slushie slash melted sundae into a bowl. A surprisingly toothsome liquid mess. As soon as you take your first scoop of your halo-halo, your tastebuds will definitely be confused whether it is a halo-halo or a fruit salad. I can compare it to Razon's, but I must say my vote goes to Monbis. With a price of 65.00php compared to 92.00php of  Razon's, this halo-halo is by far my new favorite among all the halo-halo I've tasted.

So if you are craving for halo-halo or you just wanna give yourself a sweet treat, I highly recommend you try this halo-halo from Monbis. I am sure you will also have one hell of a halo-halotastic experience. BURP!

IF LOVE IS A GAME..

I have lost and won at the same time...

So while walking down the street (going to the netshop that I am in now) and listening to music (Ngayo'y naririrto by Jhay-R) I thought about this matter. If love is a game there's always a winner and loser right?

So it starts in grade school .
The GAME

If you fall in love, first you lose because its a game most people don't plan to stay with someone they dated in first grade (yeah they are starting early these days.ako college na ako ng lumandi eh). So the rule is,if you fall in love you lose. The one who doesnt win because...hmmmm.. they just do (LOL) I can't explain it.But they win because maybe in their mind it was never their intention to fall in love.IT WAS JUST A GAME.

However, if both people fall in love you both lose, however in this sense its a win win situation because the feelings are mutual.

Ties are rare right? There usually has to be a winner in every game but when theres a tie both people fall in love at the exact same time. For example "Love at first sight" thats a tie in most situations. One person falls in love with the other before the other can even know your full name.LOL.(Believe me, it happens!)

Now the biggest thing is when you can win and lose at the same time...For example even though your team might have lost the game there's always an MVP or person who was the player of the game.In a relationship this occurs when one or both people fall out of love with each other. You won if you fell out of love for two reasons...

  1.  you're no longer in love so you win by default
  2.  you won because you were strong enough to admit it to not just yourself but your partner and in essence you prevented yourself from experiencing pain for staying in a relationship that you were not happy in.

However, you lose because you could have gave up on something that could have been the best thing in your life....

The person who has a broken heart lost because they might have lost someone they imagined their future with and they are most likely still in love with the person during the time of the breakup. However, they also won because they learned from the relationship that they were in. They might not see it right away but eventually it will show up in their future relationship.

Well it makes sense in my head. But it could just be me.hmmmmm... Well I tried.LOL
Ultimately no matter if you win or lose you always learn something from each experience.

ROUGH DRAFT

Have you ever tried to fall in love? If you did, then definitely you have already tried getting hurt. I must say that I have my fair share of what they call "HEARTACHES"!

Like a preschooler's homework, I lay here full of blemishes and smudges, in need of a good eraser.

There are the smudges of past hurts, the ones I tried to remove myself but only made it worse, the remnants of what was still remains. I scratched the pain out, tried to cover it all together, but its still there, a darkened mess on the page that is my heart. A few spots have been rubbed over so much that only a hole remains. Not even tape can fix these, they will forever remain to remind me of the errors I made, the unforgivable.

I used white out to cover the names of those who laid claim but didn't finish the work, puttin their name on the page before understanding the work that lied ahead. This can't be handed in to anyone, it's not presentable. I got it! We'll call this the "Rough Draft"!

I can take the good parts of this and start over, no mistakes, I will take my time. He will be my new page, no errors, but just in case...I still have my Handy Dandy Eraser!
